The role of additive and dominant genetic factors in AD. Lead Investigator: Thomas Wingo Institution : Emory University E-Mail : thomas.wingo@emory.edu Proposal ID : 652 Proposal Description: Using data from 32 Alzheimer???s Disease Research Centers maintained by NACC we showed that the genetic basis for individuals with Alzheimer???s Disease (AD) with young ages at onset is likely due to autosomal recessive causes, in addition to the known dominant causes (Wingo et al. 2011). In prior requests, we have examined the role that additive (VA) and dominant (VD) contribute to both young-onset and late-onset AD however, those efforts were hampered by technical limitations of our model and estimator of VD that have been solved by my collaborator, Dr. David Cutler. Here we propose to perform an updated analysis using our improved model and additional GWAS data unavailable in 2012. Of note, we already have access to genotyping data from 6,065 individuals through dbGaP.
